“Job Path, Inc. has its form 990 prepared by an outside accounting firm and has established the following review process to ensure that the information reported is complete and accurate. When the Form 990 has been prepared, reviewed by management and is ready to be filed with the Internal Revenue Service, it is electronically sent to the Director of Finance of the organization. The director of Finance will then electronically send the completed draft to each of the members of the Finance committee. The committee will review and provide comments and any suggested changes. After making any changes required after review by the finance committee, the form 990 will be sent to each member of the board of trustees at least five business days before filing the form 990.”
“If a board member believes that they have a conflict, they must disclose it to the board chair, which will be reflected in the minutes of the board meeting. A person who has a conflict of interest shall not participate in the board's or committee's discussion of the matter except to disclose material facts and to respond to questions. A vote will then take place among the disinterested board members to determine if the organization should proceed with the arrangement. If a key employee has a conflict of interest, they shall disclose this conflict to the executive director and the board chair, and appropriate measures will be taken. Each Director and Key Employee shall annually sign and submit a statement which affirms such person has received a copy of the conflict of interest policy and has agreed to comply with the policy.”
“In advance of the review of compensation by the Job Path Board of Trustees, Job Path's compliance officer prepared a review of the total remuneration provided to the executive director and other highly compensated staff. The review included the use of Guidestar to select comparable organizations and the review of the most recent Forms 990 filed by these organizations. In addition, the compliance officer compared compensation and benefits information from the 2017 Non-Profit Salary Report published by the Non-Profit Coordinating Committee. This review was independent of any Job Path staff and was provided directly to the Board of Trustees. The Board reviewed the report at a meeting held on June 28, 2017 which was documented in minutes for the meeting. The Board accepted and determined, based on the review, that the compensation for all top managers at Job Path was reasonable.”
“The Organization makes its form 990 available for public inspection as required under section 6104 of the Internal Revenue Code. the return is posted on new york state attorney general website, guidestar.org and other similar types of websites. In addition, Form 1023, governing documents, financial statements, and conflict of interest policy are also available upon written request at 256 West 38th Street, New York, NY 10018, or by calling the organization directly at (212)944-0564.”
“The organization has a committee that assumes responsibility for oversight of the audit of its financial statements and selection of an independent accountant. This process did not change from the prior year.”
“Deficit of $150,122 includes deferred rent of $188,437. Absent the requirement to include deferred rent in the statements of financial position (Line 19, page 1) would show a surplus of $38,315.”
“The board designated fund holds and administer certain funds for the purpose of generating income for Job Path's innovative projects.”
“Job Path recognizes the effect of income tax positions only if those positions are more likely than not to be sustained. Management has determined that Job Path had no uncertain tax positions that would require financial statement recognition or disclosure. Job Path is no longer subject to examinations by the applicable taxing jurisdictions for periods prior to June 30, 2014.”

| IRS990/Desc | 0 | Supported LivingJob Path's supported living program provides individualized supports to enable people to establish their own homes. The program is designed to provide an alternative to the group home model, particularly for people with more complex support needs who otherwise would not have the opportunity to live in their own homes. Established in the early 1990s, today the program supports 44 people who are living in their own apartments throughout New York City. This number has grown steadily over the years, though slowly, because we work one person at a time to find the right housing and service configuration to ensure that each individual thrives. |

| IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc | 0 | EmploymentEstablished in 1978, Job Path was a pioneer in the development of strategies to help people with developmental disabilities find stable, satisfying employment. While today we operate a range of efforts designed to help people contribute to community life, employment remains at the heart of our work. Our employment programs support more than 300 people, and we partner with scores of businesses across New York City. Customized employment techniques provide the foundation for our work. This approach provides strategies for pinpointing the specific skills and talents people can bring to the workforce and for working with businesses to create jobs that meet the needs of both the job seeker and the employer. Within the scope of our employment department, we operate a number of specialized projects including a series of efforts working with young people in special education and our Consortium for Customized Employment, a network of 10 service providers and more than 40 businesses that work together to increase employment opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. Our newest effort is Project Next Step, which is focused helping people who are working to advance in their careers and earn more money. |

The programs support 91 people, but each one has her own schedule of activities: volunteer work, classes and/or college, a fitness routine and other community involvements. Our day services are not intended as an alternative to employment. Almost half of our enrollees split their week between part-time paid employment and other community activities. Many of those who aren't now working are seeking employment with the help of our employment program.A special component of our day services (Life Coaching) is designed for people with autism, many of whom do not have intellectual disabilities, but need significant support around socialization and communication. In addition to helping these individuals become involved in their communities, about ten people are attending college with the support of Life Coaching mentors. Several individuals have obtained degrees--and employment--over the past few years. |

In addition, the MSCs help people and their families navigate complex systems like Social Security, Medicaid and food stamps, so that they have the stable benefits these programs provide. The department supports 161 people. We have several arts programs: Art Anonymous for visual artists, the Outside Voices Theater Company and Poets of Course. Finally, Job Path's Harlem-based Urban Innovations effort supports residents of that community as they contribute to a range of local efforts with community gardens, arts organizations and other civic groups. |
