“A copy of the draft form 990 was presented to the audit committee for discussion and comment. once finalized a copy was provided to the entire board of trustees. Each board member was provided with an opportunity to comment on the information contained in the form 990 prior to its filing with the Internal Revenue Service. Form 990, Part VI, Line 15a Process for Determining Compensation The FCC undertakes a comprehensive process to determine the executive compensation paid to its executive director. To assess the executive director's compensation, comparability data from non-profits of similar mission focus, budget size and geographic region is gathered from publicly available salary surveys. The executive director's compensation is then discussed with the executive committee and sumbitted to the board of directors for comment and approval. Any potential salary increases are documented in committee meeting minutes.”

“Senior Center: Our senior services program runs year-round, Monday - Thursday from 10 AM to 3:15 PM. We offer daily meals and a variety of opportunities for socialization and activities for the mind & body. Activities include exercise classes, bingo, knitting, current events, arts & crafts, parties for special occasions and offsite excursions. In addition, the FCC offers professionally administered health screenings and workshops. The FCC senior population is also a great source of volunteers for our other programs. Babies & Toddlers: The FCC Babies and Toddlers Program was instituted in 2013 and serves 20 young children and their families weekly. The program provides an opportunity for parents and caregivers to meet and socialize, while offering a safe environment for the youngest members of our community to learn and develop. Through play and interaction, we aim to foster the development of basic motor skills and encourage language acquisition in the children who take part in our program. Performing Arts Program: This Program's philosophy is simple: to provide a performing arts experience that assists individuals in social and educational developmental skills that carry into all areas of their lives. Skills to be improved upon are communications, listening, vocal production and diction, body awareness and an understanding and acceptance of the humanities. Theatre West 97th believes in the unparalleled experience of performing for an audience. Performing builds confidence, self-esteem, resiliency, and provides the satisfaction that comes from working as a team, completing a project and creating a community event. The St. Francis Thrift Store: The Thrift Store serves as an invaluable resource for the FCC. Thanks to regular donations of clothing, furniture, household goods, and other merchandise, we are able to supplement our income from grants and individual donations in order to maintain our diverse programs and services. Just as important, however, is that the store provides a place where all members of our community are able to buy affordable goods. Some 26,000 of our Upper West Side neighbors are patrons of the Thrift Store.”
