The following process is used to determine appropriate levels of compensation: job description - each job has a written job description listing the job summary, education requirement, experience, job specifications, ada requirements, and age competency for the position if applicable. Job evaluation - each job is given a numerical score determined by the total points assigned to eleven factors: education, experience, exercise of judgment, responsibility, accountability, contact with others, confidential information, direction of others, working condition, social/psychologial conditions, and effort. “The national perinatal information center (npic) is dedicated to the improvement of perinatal health through comparative data analysis, program evaluation, health services research, and professional continuing education. Npic is one of the leading perinatal and neonatal data analytics and outcome databases in the united states. For over 35 years, npic has worked with hospitals, patient safety organizations, insurers, and researchers to collect and interpret the data that drives better outcomes for mothers and newborns. As a data leader in the maternal and newborn space, npic continues to provide best-in-class outcomes and benchmark reporting for its member hospitals. Early on, npic became nationally recognized for its unique expertise in the organization of perinatal care and contributions to the regionalization of perinatal care. This early work served as the foundation by which npic would broaden its reach and impact over the next three decades. Through its membership, npic provides benchmarking and data analysis for over 650,000 maternal and newborn discharges per year, representing approximately 10% of the nation's birth volume and making it one of the largest perinatal and neonatal databases in the country. For over 20 years, npic has been leading efforts in linked mother/baby data, which provides a unique and valuable lens into newborn outcomes based on maternal health and comorbidities. In addition, npic provides data analytics, analysis, and reporting for a variety of key organizations that utilize the npic database for research and health analysis. In 2021, npic was recognized by the first annual white house maternal health day of action for its work on stratifying outcomes by ethnicity, providing hospitals, clinicians, and communities the data needed for sustainable efforts related to health and birth equity. Npic partners with like-minded organizations and companies that seek to improve the health outcomes of mothers, birthing people, and newborns through data analysis, maternal and neonatal health resources, and frontline staff engagement. Through its expertise in maternal and neonatal health, npic contracts with hospitals, healthcare entities, and other organizations to serve as a consultant and collaborator for state and regional improvement projects. Npic supports national and local maternal and neonatal quality improvement efforts through their engagement with the alliance for the innovation on maternal health (aim) and the perinatal neonatal quality collaborative of rhode island (pnqcri).”
