Mission and Program Overview

Mission

To provide, free of charge, low-income and homeless children from birth to pre-teen with the basic essentials they need to feel safe, warm, ready to learn and valued. We also lay a foundation for lasting change through meaningful, tangible volunteer opportunities that we provide to thousands of youth and adults each year.

Cradles to crayons provides children from birth through age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive at home, at school and at play. We supply these items free of charge by engaging and connecting communities.as a result of a comprehensive strategic planning process to determine the most effective and efficient model to serve the unmet need across the united states, the organization developed and launched a new digital model, giving factory direct. The model allows donors to send essential items directly from their homes to the children they serve via its network of service partners. In this fiscal year, the organization utilized giving factory direct to serve children in the bay area and new york city.
