IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0TRAINING AND TEAM DEVELOPMENT: Training and Team Development teaches individuals, schools, businesses, and communities from across the Northeast how to improve problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills, increase team communication and performance, create an atmosphere of cooperation, trust and encouragement, and discover and effectively capitalize on group resources. Through our technical and facilitation trainings and our Annual Symposium, hundreds of teachers and school staff, social service workers, camp staff, military and law enforcement personnel and many others train with us each year to guide their own adventure programs, learn and improve their challenge course technical skills and develop their own facilitation skills and style. We give them the tools that they need to make a difference in other peoples lives. Total served in 2015: 3,522. Over the past 3 years, 9,590 people have been served in 14 states.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc0EDGE OF LEADERSHIP: The Edge of Leadership program provides adventure-based youth leadership development through work performed in schools and on our Brattleboro campus and challenge course. Our three experiential educators with 54 years of collective experience guide students in grades 5 through 12 -- and their teachers -- to develop critical thinking and problem solving skills, increase social and emotional intelligence, work collaboratively in and out of the classroom, manage projects while guiding and leading others, and open doors to improving school culture and academic performance. In 2015 EOL launched a 3-year demonstration project to apply the EOL model system-wide in the Keene, NH school district. All 5th graders receive monthly 90-minute sessions in the classroom plus 2 days on the challenge course, for 32 hours of contact time. 7th graders receive 90-minute sessions every other month plus a Challenge course day, for 14 contact hours. High school groups pick a particular issue to work on and improve in their school, with leadership development programming that includes teachers. Total served in 2015: 229 students, 25 teachers, 13 sites. Since 2011, a total of 860 people have participated in EOL at 24 sites.
