Inside Out - Community: Formerly known as the Neighborhood Arts Project, this after-school and Saturday multidisciplinary arts program utilizes The School Project curriculum, is formatted for community center settings, and provides at-risk and underserved middle school youth and high school Mentors with a theater based enrichment program. As Inside Out Community Arts is headquartered in Venice, this program is our ongoing outreach service to the youth of our resident community. Talks are underway to bring this format to community centers in other neighboring communities.

Activity 3

Inside Out - Drop-In: Also based on The School Project curriculum, this program provides core arts education workshops to participants on a drop-in basis and is adaptable to both schools and community centers in underserved Los Angeles neighborhoods.Inside Out: Teen Media Initiative: A social enterprise and vocational training program that pairs tech-savvy teens with tech-needy adults. Our high school youth are trained to provide computer, Internet and social media services to adults and small business owners. Financial literacy and business professionalism are integrated into the curriculum. Inside Out: Alumni Mentor Program. Growing numbers of alumni participate in this leadership development program. Designed for Inside Out graduates in high school or college, the Mentor Program provides community, leadership development, advanced arts education and training as Youth Artist Leaders. The program ensures young people a place in a familiar and nurturing community of adult mentors and peers. Mentors participate in all aspects of our programs, drawing upon their experience to help guide middle school youth, as they themselves are encouraged to stay in school and pursue higher education opportunities. These programs served 51 youth.
