Mission: project echo empowers students with entrepreneurial and leadership skills so that they can thrive in college, their careers and in their community as change-makers.vision: project echo's unique model of hands-on entrepreneurship learning gives students and teachers an opportunity to tie-in industry-sector themes while linking their learning to solving real-world problems.goals: 1. To provide our students with interdisciplinary project-based learning to develop entrepreneurial, business and life skills.2. To provide our students a competitive edge for college entrance and career development.3. To provide positive role models to our students through community based mentorship, inclusive of mba students through exectuive volunteers.4. To increase awareness among our students, the public, and the private sectors of entrepreneurial and vocational opportunities.5. To build networks/alliances between our students and their communities.

LAUNCHING ECHO ENROLLED 448 HIGH SCHOOL TEENS FROM 68 DIFFERENT HIGH SCHOOLS ALL OF WHOM PARTICIPATED IN A CLASSROOM BASED INTRODUCTION TO ENTREPRENEURSHIP, WHICH CULMINATED IN A VIBRANT CLASSROOM-BASED PITCH COMPETITION. PROJECT ECHO ENROLLED A COMBINATION OF INDIVIDUAL SCHOOLS, AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS, AND COMMUNITY-BASED GROUPS. ALL OF THE STUDENTS AND THEIR BUSINESS TEAMS CONSIDERED A COMMUNITY-BASED PROBLEM, AND DEVELOPED A PRODUCT OR SERVICE WHICH WAS THE BASIS OF THEIR BUSINESS. TEAMS DEVELOPED WRITTEN BUSINESS PLANS AND PITCH DECKS. 219 STUDENTS, REPRESENTING 58 TEAMS, ADVANCED TO COMPETE IN THE TEEN ENTREPRENEURS' BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION. ABOUT 70 VOLUNTEER JUDGES READ AND EVALUATED WRITTEN BUSINESS (210 HOURS), WITH AN ADDITIONAL 30 JUDGES VOLUNTEERING AT THE COMPETITION (240 HOURS) TO LISTEN TO TEEN PRESENTATIONS, AND HELP IDENTIFY THE WINNING TEAMS. MORE THAN $8,000 WAS AWARDED IN SCHOLARSHIPS TO 9 TEAMS. LAUNCHING ECHO GENERALLY CHARGES SCHOOLS 50% OF THE ACTUAL COST TO PARTICIPATE AND ECHO RAISES THE DIFFERENCE TO ALLOW SCHOOLS TO PARTICIPATE.
