Coalition for Engaged Education's returns are subject to examination by federal and state taxing authorities, generally for three and four years, respectively, after they are filed.”

C/HOPE has served more than 900 male probation youth, ages 14-17, at Camp David Gonzales in the Malibu Mountains. Participants attend classes to enhance their education, social skills, and coping skills. C/HOPE also assists with reentry into the community through case management so that participants can successfully re-enter school, secure employment, and achieve their personal goals. C/HOPE has reduced the recidivism rate to 18%, which is far below the 70% rate reported by the California Department of Juvenile Justice. |

C/FORWARD helps to enroll students into high-quality schools that fit their needs and provides financial assistance for enrollment fees, academic supplies, and extracurricular activities. C/FORWARD also sponsors extra-curricular activities and provides mentorship and support. Only 50% of foster youth graduate from high school nationally and only 15% attend college. Since 2000, 94% of our students have graduated from high school, 96% of the graduates have enrolled in college, and 70% have completed a post-secondary degree within six years of high school graduation. |

Begun as this group of 20 students matriculated from 8th to 9thgrade, the program included an intensive summer program, placement into high-quality private and charter schools, financial support for educational expenses such as transportation, and ongoing case management, the program has significantly transformed the lives of some of these students. While the program will conclude in 2017, the Coalition plans to apply these lessons and this program design to youth involved in the juvenile justice system. |

C/Village non-profits share space, resources, and knowledge to help strengthen their organizations and expand their programming. C/Village's partner organizations meet monthly to share stories, offer support, and explore solutions. Collaboration between and integration of partners into existing programs is a priority of C/Village. C/Village is also a home for programming for the public.C/Village hosts, alone or with partners, classes, concerts, workshops, conferences, film screenings, poetry readings, and trainings. While C/Village does not work directly with the at-risk youth that Coalition for Engaged Education and its partners in the C/Village do, the collaboration and development that is integral to C/Village's mission allows each C/Village partner to improve their services and outreach to the thousands of families in the specific communities they assist. |
