Additional Explanations

Form 990, Part III, Line 1

Since 1992, ndvets has helped our nation's heroes successfully address the challenges of life after military service. Ndvets offers support and assistance to los angeles-area homeless veterans and veterans at risk for homelessness to effectively transform their lives through a rich array of services tailored to meet the needs of each individual veteran. Primary services offered include affordable housing placements and development, vocational and educational services, workforce development and job training, case management, mental health counseling, and substance abuse treatment, in the context of its transitional housing programs for both men and women veterans. Ndvets currently operates six permanent supportive housing facilities and four transitional housing programs with new projects in the pipeline.

Form 990, Part XII, Line 2C

The organization's processes for oversight of the audit of its financial statements and selection of an independent accountant have not changed from the previous year

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The organization is exempt from taxation under internal revenue code section 501(c)(3) and california revenue and taxation code section 23701(d). Generally accepted accounting principles provide accounting and disclosure guidance about positions taken by an organization in its tax returns that might be uncertain. Management has considered its tax positions and believes that all of the positions taken by the organization in their federal and state exempt organization tax returns are more likely than not to be sustained upon examination. The organization's returns are subject to examination by federal and state taxing authorities, generally for three and four years, respectively, after they are filed.

PART XI, LINE 4B - OTHER ADJUSTMENTS:

Fundraising expenses -141,669. Rent expenses -14,240.

PART XII, LINE 2D - OTHER ADJUSTMENTS:

Fundraising expenses 141,669. Rent expenses 14,240.
