OUR STAFF WORKS LOCALLY, NATIONALLY, AND INTERNATIONALLY WITH MEMBERS OF THE INTERNATIONAL CAMPAIGN TO ABOLISH NUCLEAR WEAPONS (ICAN), BACK FROM THE BRINK, (BFTB) AND PHYSICIANS FOR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (PSR) TO NAME JUST A FEW PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS, TO PROMOTE THE TREATY ON THE PROHIBITION OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS AND ESPECIALLY THE POSITIVE OBLIGATIONS OF THE TREATY. WHILE TRAVEL TO MEETINGS IN D.C. AND IN EUROPE WAS NOT POSSIBLE THIS YEAR DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS ON TRAVEL, OUR STAFF ATTENDED COUNTLESS ZOOM MEETINGS WITH OTHERS WORKING TOWARD THE SAME GOALS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc0YOUTH ACTIVISM:REVERSE THE TREND: SAVE OUR PLANET. SAVE OUR PEOPLE (RTT) AMPLIFIES THE VOICES OF YOUNG PEOPLE PRIMARILY FROM FRONTLINE COMMUNITIES WHO HAVE BEEN DIRECTLY AFFECTED BY NUCLEAR WEAPONS TESTING AND CLIMATE CHANGE. THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, WE HOSTED NUMEROUS ZOOM MEETINGS THAT REACHED HUNDREDS OF YOUNG PEOPLE THROUGHOUT THE US, CANADA, AND INTERNATIONALLY, PROVIDING AN EDUCATIONAL FORUM FOR YOUNG PEOPLE TO ENGAGE IN THE ISSUES THAT AFFECT THEIR FAMILIES, FRIENDS AND COMMUNITIES. REVERSE THE TREND IS ALSO WORKING CLOSELY WITH KIRIBATI AND KAZAKHSTAN ON ARTICLES 6 AND 7 OF THE TREATY ON THE PROHIBITION OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS (TPNW) WHICH PROVIDE A FRAMEWORK OF ASSISTANCE FOR ADDRESSING THE ONGOING HUMANITARIAN AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONSEQUENCES OF THE PAST USE AND TESTING OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS.
