Activity 2

In fye 2012-2013, community resource center's social services served more than 11,000 low-income and episodically homeless individuals through our comprehensive programs. Crc helped prevent long-term homelessness for over 3,900 households through providing rental assistance, motel vouchers, and the rotating winter shelter program. 627 households participated in the client center program , which offers a 6-month cycle of case management, food distribution and financial education. Upon completion of a six-month cycle of case management, 82% of clients increased food security, 76% increased financial stability, and 78% increased overall self-sufficiency. The annual holiday baskets program-the largest distribution of its kind in san diego county-- served a record 1,671 households in december 2012. In fy 2013, crc implemented two new and innovative programs to help families achieve long-term self-sufficiency. Back to work, a social enterprise and workforce development program served 32 clients in its first year and ways to work, an affordable automobile loan program, served 40 individuals from its inception in november 2012 to june 2013.

Activity 3

Community resource center's thrift stores, in addition to generating net income for the agency's activities, is a source of clothing, furniture and household goods for both domestic violence and social service clients; provides employment opportunities for low-income individuals; and is a source of low-cost goods for local families.
