This group is convened by dr john latham, national center for atmospheric research in boulder colorado, who first published the idea of seeding marine clouds to increase their reflectivity in the journal nature in 1990. This years bay area was located in the south bay attracting many first time attendees. Overall the bay area event had over 230 attendees in stem fields. The seattle washington event attracted over 100 attendees. In september of 2015 we hosted our first shes geeky in salt lake city, utah -- attracting over 70 attendees. We offered 50% off tickets to local universities and had over 20 students/teachers take part, two full scholarships; and four volunteers. Local chapters produced a total of 45 events. The network began an educational podcast. All chapters unanimously decided to separate from association with the evolver company in 2016, and the network will continue under a new name.”

“Wordnik in 2014 wordnik launched a new initiative to find a million words missing from traditional dictionaries, and to add good explanatory sentences for these missing words to wordniks site and api. Wordnik also completed a data conversion project in partnership with the american heritage dictionary, which will make high-quality dictionary content for elementary- and middle-school students more widely available. Wordnik also expanded our outreach to text-based and computation-based artists by hosting meetups for twitterbot makers and nanogenmo participants. Inertialee buric continues to work on inertia, a film that follows several members of a team of climate scientists working on a plan to save the arctic ice. In march she travelled to the uk for a geoengineering conference at cambridge and to pursue further interviews with the films protagonist, dr. John latham. She also continues to work with dr. Latham when he is in colorado. Bee audaciousplans have been coming together for a working bee conference that is scheduled to take place in december 2016. Organizing committee has been formed, venue has been reserved (marconi conference center, marshall, ca), fundraising is underway, and invitations are starting to be extended for estimated 100 participants. Id keysid keys is an open distributed global identity system using technology similar to a blockchain to register cryptographic public keys. A public key registry makes both socially validated pseudonymous identity, and credentials representing components of real identity, possible on the same system. A new more highly evolved ledger protocol offers secure, rapid resolution without wasted energy.
