Financial Statement Notes

Part X : FIN48 Footnote

The Foundation evaluates its uncertain tax positions and will recognize a loss contingency when it is probable that a liability has been incurred as of the date of the financial statements and the amount of the loss can be reasonably estimated. The amount recognized is subject to estimate and management judgment with respect to the likely outcome of each uncertain tax position. The amount that is ultimately sustained for an individual uncertain tax position or for all uncertain taxpositions in the aggregate could differ from the amount recognized. As of December 31, 2013 management did not identify any uncertain positions.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0Education Programs:The Hannah Project Partnership is a community based college and career preparatory program with a mission to boost the academic performance and college graduation rates of Africa American and other low income students of color in Marin City and other under-served Marin communities by working in partnership to promote a community culture that encourages achievement and equips families and students with knowledge, skills, and strategies to fulfill their dreams and ambitions. The Mosaic Project challenges 4th and 5th grade students to think critically about the world around them and to build relationships outside their social strata. Despite the great diversity of the San Francisco Bay Area, we still face the challenges of segregation and prejudice, as well as intergroup tension and violence.

IRS990ScheduleD/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0The Foundation evaluates its uncertain tax positions and will recognize a loss contingency when it is probable that a liability has been incurred as of the date of the financial statements and the amount of the loss can be reasonably estimated.

A legal agreement letter between the grantee and the Milagro Foundation isgenerated by the program associate. The letter is sent to grantee for the review andsignature of the executive director or program director.8. The letter is signed and returned to Milagro Foundation. It is filed in grantee file. A check is written with the agreed grant amount. It is recorded in QuickBooks.Executive director signs check. A stub is attached to an office copy of the grantagreement letter.
