Financial Statement Notes

Part V, Line 4: Intended uses of the endowment fund.

Permanently restricted net assets amounted to $10,000 at June 30, 2018. All of the endowment funds, classified as permanently restricted net assets, represent donor contributions that are subject to restrictions of gift instruments requiring that the principal balances be maintained in perpetuity. GMCH has been instructed by the original donor that such endowment is intended to generate income for the upkeep of the sanctuary building and for general operating activities of the organization.

Part X : FIN48 Footnote

Income TaxesFinancial statement presentation follows the recommendations of ASC 740, Income Taxes. Under ASC 740, George Mark Childrens Fund is required to report information regarding its exposure to various tax positions taken by the House and requires a two-step process that separates recognition from measurement. The first step is determining whether a tax position has met the recognition threshold; the second step is measuring a tax position that meets the recognition threshold. Management believes that the House has adequately evaluated its current tax positions and has concluded that as of June 30, 2018, George Mark Childrens Fund does not have any uncertain tax positions for which a reserve or an accrual for a tax liability would be necessary.George Mark Childrens Fund has received notification from the Internal Revenue Service and the State of California that it qualifies for tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and Section 23701d of the California Revenue and Taxation Code. The exemptions are subject to periodic review by the federal and state taxing authorities and management is confident that George Mark Childrens Fund continues to satisfy all federal and state statutes in order to qualify for continued tax exemption status. George Mark Childrens Fund may periodically receive unrelated business income requiring the House to file separate tax returns under federal and state statutes. Under such conditions, George Mark Childrens Fund will calculate, accrue and remit the applicable taxes.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0We bridge the gap between hospital and home, offering safe, top-notch medical care yet in the comfort and warmth of a home-like setting for patients who do not need the resources of a full childrens hospital. We offer three services: transitional carefor children and young adults who have been in an acute care hospital setting and still need some medical care, but not of an acute nature, before they transition to being cared for at home; end of life care, where a patients family can visit and sometimes stay in a family suite and surround their child or young adult with needed love and support; and respite carefor children and young adults, usually with developmental disabilities who have been referred by State run Regional Medical Centers where we provide high quality medical care and appropriate activities while providing parents and families with a short break from their nonstop care at home.
