Activity 2

Healthy kids solano program: this is a locally developed health insurance program created to provide coverage to children who do not qualify for the state sponsored programs, such as free cost medi-cal and healthy families programs. Healthy kids solano program provides comprehensive medical, dental and vision benefits at an affordable cost of $1,200 per child per year. The coalition has secured funding from solano county, foundations, local businesses, service clubs and individuals to cover the costs.

Activity 3

Health access program: solano county in collaboration with the solano coalition for better health formed the health access program. This is funded by solano county board of supervisors and seeks to create a system of care that is comprehensive and integrated. The vision of this program is to increase the percentage of solano residents below 300% of the federal poverty level receiving needed primary and specialty care. More than 35 organizations and 128 community participants are actively engaged in the work of the health access coalition. The overall goal is to create a system of care that is both integrated and comprehensive.
