Mission

Organize meetings and conferences for nevada law enforcment to encourage working together.

The Nevada Sheriffs & Chiefs Association was formed in 1953 as a professional social nonprofit 501 c6 Association dedicated to the cooperation and understanding of all law enforcement agencies in the State of Nevada in order to provide law enforcement services of the highest professional quality to the citizens of the State of Nevada. The Association was formed to encourage fellowship between law enforcement agencies and to promote charitable and educational interests as well as compassionate and equitable public service for public safety in Nevada. Additionally We promote the professional and personal development of our members through innovative services training and camaraderie.

2024 Annual Training Conference and meetings held in Las Vegas NV during October. The meetings included NDAWG NV Detention Administrators working group NV POST Peace Officers Standards and Training NV CCW Subcommittee FBINAA NV Chapter and NvSCA. 145 attendees were in attendance for the training conference which included law enforcement first responders and security professionals from around the state of Nevada. The training included multiple hours on Family wellness after police in the line of duty shootings Family and Officer wellness Officer ethics and professionalism taught through Drake University and southern border information on the exploitation of drones for delivery of drugs contraband and explosive devices. Expenses included banquet and rooms audio and visual electrical hotel rooms speaker expenses not including credit card expenses for those attendees that used credit cards for registration$0$100,703
The May meeting of NvSCA was held in conjunction with the NV Annual Peace Officer Memorial in Reno NV. 100 individuals attended the meeting which included presentations and training on the modernization of the NV Criminal Justice Information System which has been going on for more than 3 years but requires on going information and required action from agency executives a presentation to the group by the NVSCAs representative to the NV Sentencing commission which is a legislatively formed group to have oversight of sentencing matters around the state of NV a presentation on a university shooting incident presenting best practices and things that can be done better in the future information on MAT and Narcan for agencies that not only have Detention centers jails but also for first line officers who may encounter folks in an overdose situation Zero Teen Fatalities program oversight and information Introduction and presentation by the NV Cannabis Compliance Board on their$0$12,311
July 2024 NvSCa held its annual training and membership meetings in Ely NV July 2025. 63 people attended the two day event. meetings included the NV Detention Administrators working group NV POST Commission and the training event off site included a meet and greet at the maximum security prison of NDOC for a round table discussion. Business portion of the meeting included presentation and discussion by Legislative Assemblyman in preparation for the 2025 legislative session the on going presentation and training on NCJIS modernization different mental health programs with federal funding possible as well as the need if Rural counties and entrance of offenders into Lakes Crossing NV BLM on the new NV zones best practices and how to respond to a swatting incident at a major annual event and the important ong going issues related to legis mandated AG Model Immigration policy and the need for all NV agencies to have a policy in place$0$5,915
