Mission

Organize meetings and conferences for nevada law enforcment to encourage working together.

Nevada Law Enforcement officials working together to mutually review information across the state of Nevada; collaboration recognition training and cooperation. Maintaining professional standards and ethics.

November 2022 NvSCA co-hosted the annual training conference in Las Vegas. This event was a multi-day event that included multiple law enforcement and correctional agencies and officers from within the state of Nevada as well as outside the state of Nevada. The focus of 2022's event was on Officer resiliency through training of leadership. Additionally instruction was offered to attendees on protection of information through a data secure platform versus email and other older means of communications.This year's training conference featured 6 speakers over two days.Nvsca also conducted the last of its quarterly meetings that included an update on NV Human Society investigations and how they can assist the local agencies on animal investigations; block of instruction from NV Department of Homeland security and how to best utilize their resources when needed as well as on going information on the modernization of the antiquated NCJIS communication system.$0$0
NvSCA held its first meeting of the year February of 2022 in Pahrump NV.This meeting included presentations from local officials on issues a presentation on the Nevada Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and Historian the on going discussion and update to NvSCA on the NCJIS Modernization project; presentation and information from the NvSCA representative on the NV Opiod commission on recommendations and information coming out of the commission and the 988 system to be installed for interoperability and Crisis response update. The association also received an update on anticipated legislative activity based upon the Interim session.$0$0
NvSCA's 2022 training and business meeting for the 3rd quarter was held in Elko NV. The association members and guests received instruction and information on continuing education post 2nd from Grand Canyon University and Lexipol who also provided information on best practices and policies through their service and systems; On going discussion about mutual assistance between the local agencies and BLM or the US Park Service.Training also included 5 hours of Crisis Intervention Team training from staff members that work regionally within the State of NV; they also provided information that focued on NV POST legislative mandated area of Officer wellness.Additionally Dept of Homeland Security Las Vegas POrt provided information on the current activities and areas of focus and their scope of legal jurisdiction.$0$0
