Mission and Program Overview

Mission

We all rise when nonprofits thrive. At 501 Commons we serve nonprofits as experts, innovators and partners. Our passion is to amplify the strengths of nonprofits - so all people and communities florish.

501 Commons' mission is to boost the capacity of nonprofit organizations. Staff members and the volunteer professionals in our Executive Service Corps worked on 600+ projects with 400 organization. Organizations rated the services a 3.65 on a 4 point scale and 97% of clients would work with 501 Commons again. Last year we picked up the board training series formerly sponsored by United Way of King County, became the Encore Fellows Program sponsor in Washington and Idaho, and expanded our support for our Salesforce users by offering Salesforce Administration.

IRS990/Desc0Our technology consulting services include databases and technology strategy and plans. We also maintain the IT Infrastructure of 80 organizations, including providing rapid assistance through our Help Desk. Our IT Director served as a part-time IT strategist and consultant to large nonprofits. The 13 organizations in the Plan IT action learning program worked with two skilled volunteer consultants to assess their technology and develop a plan for improvement. Technology is critical to staff productivity and the ability of nonprofits to communicate, raise money, and deliver quality programs. We maintain an effort to "ZaptheGap" between nonprofit and for-profit access to technology, calling on foundations and businesses to address the technology needs of nonprofits.
