Climate Initiative.Towards an Effective Price on CarbonFuture 500's climate initiative has reached a pivotal moment. A price on carbon is an economic and ecological imperative - and it CAN AND WILL pass the U.S. Senate and House. All that is required is a systematic drive to earn environmental, business, and bipartisan support.To seize this opportunity, Future 500 has brought together over 110 companies, NGOs, and investors, who have shaped common principles for a price on carbon. We have crafted two core policy principles that can unite the bipartisan political support needed for climate policy that is friendly to people, the economy, and the environment.

Activity 3

Labor & Transparency; Other.Companies across a variety of sectors continue to face significant supply chain challenges, despite social audits in countries and regions around the globe where governmental interest and/or enforcement institutions are weak. No satisfactory solutions have emerged to offset the problems associated with auditing and community engagement. The Labor and Transparency Initiative is engaging a broad set of stakeholders, to explore the power of IT to promote breakthrough solutions on human and labor rights and supply chain transparency. We are examining promising ways to move beyond the limited success of audits to date through:oEmbedment of CSR in factories and corporate culture.oHarnessing Transparency to drive continuous CSR monitoring and improvement.oBetter worker empowerment in auditing and enforcement of due diligence
