During the fiscal years ended June 30, 2013 and 2014 Madera County Arts Council received a bequest of $2,550,000 and $240,000 from an estate which is considered an excess contribution and resulted in the public support percentage to fall below the 33.33% level. The bequest is restricted for use in constructing and maintaining a Cultural Arts Center in the Madera Community. The donor's estate has no onging influence or involvement in the Organization. Management believes that the public support percentage will return to a more normal level as they continue to operate their current program and expand the programs to the Madera County Community. Therefore, Management believes that the Organization operates as and qualifies as a publicly supported organization, not a private foundation. |
