Mission

To benefit and support mission housing development corporation, a california nonprofit public benefit corporation, and its purposes in accordance with section 509(a)(3) of the internal revenue code by (i)providing decent, safe and sanitary housing and related facilities and services, and expand economic opportunities for low-income persons; (ii) serving as a general partner (either directly or as the sole member of a limited liability company) in limited partnerships and serving as the sole or managing member in limited liability companies which will own and operate housing for low-income persons and households described in (i) above; (iii) borrowing money and issuing evidence of indebtedness in furtherance of any or all of the objects of its businees, and to secure the same by mortgage, pledge or other lien on the corporation's property; and (iv) lending money, and doing any and all other lawful things in furtherance of the charitable purposes of mhdc.

The corporation is managed by mission housing development corporation, a nonprofit public benefit corporation related to the corporation by common members of the board of directors and/or the power to appoint directors. Mhdc is responsible for the day to day operations of the corporation, including maintenance of accounting records.

Financial Statement Notes

Part X : FIN48 Footnote

Mission housing development corporation (mhdc) and other not-for-profit corporations are exempt from federal income taxation under internal revenue code section 501(c)(3) and from california franchise taxation under the revenue and taxation code section 23701(d). The income or loss from the combined partnerships is reported by the partners on their income tax returns and, accordingly, no provision for income taxes has been made in the financial statements.mhdc and affiliates believe that they have appropriate support for any tax positions taken, and as such, do not have any uncertain tax positions that are material to the financial statements. The federal and state income tax and information returns for the years ending december 31, 2017, 2016, 2015 and 2014 are subject to examination by the regulatory agencies, generally for three years and four years after they were filed for federal and state, respectively.
