“The Contra Costa Chorale's Spring 2025 concert was entitled, "Living,”

“Laughing, Loving". The program included a variety of composers and”

“highlighted a 2023 work by composer Alex Berko "Sacred Place". It was a”

“program that speaks to the power of music - both as a language with a wide”

“range of emotions and as a vehicle for expressing big ideas. The Fall 2024”

“concert included some of the great composers of Vienna. The program,”

“entitled, "Viennese Influencer(r)s", featured a woman composer, Marianna”

“von Martines, whose music was forgotten today but highly respected”

“in the 1700's.”

“The Chorale rehearses weekly through most of August-May, except for much of”

“December and January. Singers receive 2.5 hours of professional-level”

“choral singing instruction weekly. The group is made up of people who have”

“sung their entire lives in church, school, and community choirs; people who”

“sang in school but took a break for decades; and those who have never sung”

“chorally but want to start learning.”

“In 2018, the Choral established Community Connections, committed to”

“promoting music education at all learning levels, encouraging student”

“participation in the art of choral singing, and creating and supporting”

“programs that build choral singers and audiences for the future. The main”

“thrust of this program is the Contra Costa Chorale Vocal Music Studies”

“Scholarships, awarded annually to two graduating seniors in the West Contra”

“Costa USD who participated in music programs in their schools.”
