Activity 2

The family enrichment program provided comprehensive, integrated services that supported moms in creating a safe and nurturing environment for their kids. These included safety planning sessions, onsite child care, assistance in redefining the concept of "family" without abuse, and many educational and support classes that helped foster support, connection, and learning among participants. More specifically:* 348 children were enrolled in the onsite childcare center. These children also attended classes addressing safety planning, domestic violence, self-esteem and social skills* 19,075 meals and snacks were served to children enrolled in this program

Activity 3

Offsite transitional housing program: in october 2010 the final phase of our capital project to increase the availability of affordable housing with continued support services was completed. The site (known as fillmore commons) offers 29 apartments, a community clubhouse, an education center, and a donation center to receive community donations for distribution to program participants. This project is a crucial link in a continuum of services that is helping families find self-sufficiency needed to truly break the cycle of domestic violence. At fillmore commons the children have a safe place to play, and the women have created a supportive environment with each other. Children remain in the same school and they continue to be close enough to use our childcare program. In fy11, 28 women and 46 children were served by this program.
