Mission

The foundation for hearing research operates for the sole purpose of supporting non-public special day programs in northern california where deaf and hard of hearing children learn to listen, think, and talk. These special schools offer diagnostic, educational, and training programs for deaf children and their families from birth to first grade.

Wcc's mission is to leverage early diagnosis & intervention, advances in technology and comprehensive parent training to help children with hearing loss and other communication challenges reach their full potential.

Financial Statement Notes

PART V, LINE 4:

The organization has deposited money into an endowed fund with silicon valley community foundation ("svcf"), designated for the benefit of the organization. Svcf manages the assets, and periodically distributes earnings and appreciation on the corpus to the organization. Svcf is permitted to substitute another beneficiary in the place of the organization if the organization ceases to exist or if the governing board of svcf determines that support of the organization is no longer necessary or consistent with the needs of the community.

PART X, LINE 2:

The foundation has adopted the accounting guidance related to uncertain tax positions, and has evaluated its tax positions taken for all open tax years. Currently, the 2012 through 2015 information returns are open and subject to examination. In management's judgment there are no uncertain tax positions as of june 30, 2016.
