Mission
Hope services' mission is to improve the quality of life for people with developmental disabilities.
Major Activities
- Activity 2
- Day training activity services - hope's day training activity services are designed to help people with a wide range of developmental disabilities succeed in the community. The goal of the progam is to achieve full social inclusion for people with disabilities, regardless of the level of support they may need. This includes assisting disabled adults with personal independence, life skills and community adjustments, as well as assisting senior adults to gain social skills. Hope has over 400 adults with significant support-needs who attend day activity programs other than employment. Participants can develop positive community membership, and provide hundreds of hours of important volunteer work weekly. Hope's community living services supports 43 individuals living in their own choice of home, and 186 consumers receiving independent living services. Hope developed a co-operative model with housing choices coalition. Three houses donated to hope are available to consumers who live independently but with housing choices supports.
- Activity 3
- Counseling center services -hope's counseling center offers pschotherapeutic treatment of mental health problems for persons with developmental disabilities and their families. Psychiatric services including medication, family education, collateral therapy, and support services are available. Hope's counseling center implemented a special service (mental health services act wellness and recovery program) for 150 participants. The center serves 700 consumers many of whom participate in other hope programs. Hope's early intervention program for children (homestart), increased the number served by 10%. The program has expanded its geographic service area. Discussion continues in funding circles regarding potential adjustments in purchases of this service related to state funding challenges.
