FORM 990 - ORGANIZATION'S MISSION

We enable kids to build the strength of character that empowers them through a lifetime of new challenges. By seamlessly integrating the game of golf with life skills curriculum, we create learning experiences that build inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience that kids carry to everything they do. With the belief that all kids deserve the chance to grow in a supportive environment with mentors guiding them, we are dedicated to building programs that are accessible, welcoming, and as impactful as they are fun.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4A

First tee of greater seattle teaches life skills, healthy habits, and first tee's nine core values of honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, responsibility, judgement, perseverance, courtesy, and confidence to youth from all backgrounds, ages 5-18 years old. We taught the first tee's life skills curriculum to 2,000 young people at 13 municipal golf facilities in king & snohomish county and partnered with 15 local social service agencies to reach youth who could benefit the most from our program. Additionally, we trained p.e. Teachers by partnering with 188 elementary schools and 29 middle schools to reach close to 175,000 students. These contractual relationship are with the following 13 school districts in washington: auburn, enumclaw, federal way, highline, issaquah, kent, renton, riverview, seattle, shoreline, snohomish, tahoma, tukwila, as well as 13 independent schools (contracts remain in place, however covid 19 closed in person schooling). We received support from hundreds of volunteers and adult mentors to provide a 1 to 4 adult to child ratio to empower youth in youth-centered and master-driven weekly classes every season of the year (except spring due to covid-19). First tee of greater seattle is in the top 5% of all first tee chapters nation-wide. Our program is offered on a sliding scale of 199-99 per season based on ability to pay with 40% of the youth we serve on full scholarships. We strive to serve young people who would not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in golf and 43% of the youth we serve were girls and 60% were children of color. The year 2020 experienced broad support from donors in our community with over 1,000 individuals giving financial gifts to our organization.

IRS990/MissionDesc0WE ENABLE KIDS TO BUILD THE STRENGTH OF CHARACTER THAT EMPOWERS THEM THROUGH A LIFETIME OF NEW CHALLENGES.
