Mission

Cascade harvest coalition and its programs were represented at over 30 conferences, workshops and community events in 2015 and reached over 2 million people with information and resources about local farms and local food. Staff served on a number of food and farm related advisory boards and planning committees to help promote regional consideration of food system issues and generate ongoing dialogue among the various groups addressing these issues. Partnered with over 50 organizations to do outreach, conduct workshops and improve program offerings.

Form 990, Part III, Line 3

Cascade harvest coalition planned to cease business as of december 31, 2015. They were looking for homes for two of their programs, puget sound fresh and farmlink, and approached seattle tilth about the possibility of bringing them into seattle tilth. Both organizations quickly realized that the two programs were a good fit, and that the best way to integrate them into seattle tilth's existing program portfolio was to effect an immediate merger between seattle tilth and cascade harvest coalition. Once both boards reviewed the situation, due diligence was fast-tracked. Following votes by both boards, the two organizations officially merged as of 12/1/15.
