“Today, we have 17 active chaplains through hope unlimited's northwest incident support (nwis)program. The area of service includes camano island,north snohomish county and south skagit county. In 2018, chaplains who are available 24/7,responded to 185 calls when requested by ems, fire, hospitals, and law enforcement agencies. The chaplain role provides a "ministry of presence" offering compassion during critical incidents. In 2018 single parent family life (sfl) ministered to 10 families during the first quarter of the year. This outreach was lead by dedicated group of 9 volunters who provided encouragement, education, training, and helped offer family-style meals at each weekly session. Currently, sfl is in the process of recruiting a new director to bring leadership and direction to this much needed community program. This year, hope unlimited launched a new anti-trafficking initiative (ati) that brings awareness, education, and prevention concerning human trafficking and modern-day slavery. 10 dedicated volunteers have received training and education to better serve our community. After the season of training, the volunteers have hosted community events, educational meetings, and trainings for many in our area. Currently, the ati serves snohomish, island, skagit and whatcom counties.”
