“Today we have 16 active, trained and certified chaplains.the hope unlimited program called northwest incident support (nwis) reflects the wide geographic area now served. Thisa area includes camano island, and much of north snohomish county. In 2015 the chaplains who are available 24/7, responded to over 200 calls when requested by police and fire agency personnel. Cascade valley hospital has also begun requesting nwis chaplains to their emergency room department. The chaplain role provides a "ministry of presence" offering compassion during critical incidents. In 2015 single parent family life (sfl) ministered to 10 families for each session. This outreach of hope unlimited is led by a team of 12 trained volunteers who provide curriculum and leadership to both adults and children. Another cadre of volunteers provide the family-friendly meals that begin each weekly gathering. Many of these single parents and families are finging growth and encouragement that they return for the next series of classes as they are offered. Currently sfl provides a winter and a fall series interspersed with other special activities and connection opportunities to help with emotional and spiritual growth.”
