IRS990/Desc0YAKIMA TRIBUTARY ACCESS AND HABITAT PROGRAM (YTAHP) HAS THE GOAL OF INCREASING SAFE ACCESS OF SALMON TO TRIBUTARIES IN THE YAKIMA BASIN THAT THEY HISTORICALLY USED FOR SPAWNING. WE DO THIS BY WORKING WITH CONSERVATION ENTITIES ACROSS THE YAKIMA BASIN TO IDENTIFY AND PRIORITIZE PROJECTS THAT INCLUDE THE REMOVAL OR REPLACEMENT OF HUMAN MADE BARRIERS, SCREENING IRRIGATION DIVERSIONS AND IRRIGATION DIVERSION IMPROVEMENTS AND REMOVAL OR IMPROVEMENT OF OTHER PASSAGE OBSTACLES. THE MAJORITY OF OUR FUNDING GOES TO OUR PARTNERS TO IMPLEMENT CHOSEN PROJECTS, AS WELL AS USED FOR STAFF TO OBTAIN NECESSARY PERMITS, CONDUCT MONITORING, FACILITATE STRATEGIC PLANNING AND PROJECT REVIEW AND SUBMIT NECESSARY REPORTS AND OTHER ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES. ANOTHER PRIMARY PURPOSE IS TO ASSIST FARMERS TO VOLUNTARILY IMPLEMENT BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES THAT BOTH IMPROVE CONDITIONS FOR SALMON AND PROMOTE WORKING LANDS.
