In this last reporting period the project has provided support to military families and professionals through 21 workshops which 345 people attended. STOMP provided the annual PPTW Conference for 8 teams of three. Individual assistance was provided to 1350 individuals. STOMPs services to military families throughout the US overseas would be impossible without volunteers. STOMP volunteers include both Parent Professional Team Workshop PPTW volunteers and Advisory Committee members. The project has 164 volunteers who provided 4260 hours of support through workshops, individual assistance, and installation briefings. According to the Independent Sector, the dollar value of a volunteer is 21.36 per hr. This equates to 90,994 in valuable time, energy and generosity.
Activity 3
Pierce County Parent to Parent Program PTP The PTP support project, funded through a grant with the Pierce County Developmental Disabilities Council, provides support and information to families both over the phone and through the use of volunteers. The trained volunteers are matched with families who have just leaned of their childs disability and will typically have a child with a like disability to that of the new parent seeking support. The project also sponsors support groups for typically underserved families and those who are in need of additional involvement in a supportive network. The project has held over 20 support group meetings in the past year as well as averaging three to five matches per month. The PTP has over 20 families who provide assistance as helping parents. Many of these individuals, as well as youth teachers within the districts CIP is involved with, volunteer their time. The two programs CIP and PTP have a total of 73 volunteers who have provided 2155 hrs of support, equating to 46031 the Independent Sector rate of 21.36

IRS990/Description0Parent Training and Information PTI project In the 2009-2010 grant year staff provided parents, professionals and consumers with information and referrals to increase their knowledge of rights and responsibilities under IDEA and NCLB to effectively advocate for a child with a disability in the Washington State educational system. This was provided through workshops , one to one contacts, resource fairs, development of regional Associate Committees, community volunteers and the new webinar downloads through the PAVE website. The PTI assisted nearly 11,000 families and did over 30 trainings during this period. Volunteers are a large asset of the PTI. We are grateful for their time, energy and the amaziang work they do. During the 2009-2010 grant year the project logged 1535 hrs of volunteer time. This is equivalent to 32786, according to the Independent Sector which values volunteers at 21.36 per hr.
