Mission and Program Overview

Mission

The mission of the organization is to provide Early Childhood Education services to children and families in Yakima, Douglas, Chelan, and Okanogan counties. EPIC strives to prepare children and families to be life long learners while gaining the skills to meet challenges along the way.

Major Activities

Activity 2
The children, youth and family services division serves children ages birth through 5 years in the medicaid treatment child care (mtcc) program, the crisis nursery and project safe care. It also serves youth ages 12 through 17 in the secured residential crisis center and residential crisis center(scrc/crc), the 15-day stabilization and planning program, and the behavioral residential service (brs) program.
Activity 3
Other agency programs include the revenue from the rental of meeting space, revenue from the rental to triumph treatment center, and other miscellaneous revenue.

THE SERVICES PROVIDED INCLUDE HEAD START EDUCATION, FOSTER CARE, AND ALTERNATIVE RESIDENTIAL LIVING FOR YOUTH. EPIC STRIVES TO PREPARE CHILDREN AND FAMILIES TO BE LIFELONG LEARNERS WHILE GAINING THE SKILLS TO MEET CHALLENGES ALONG THE WAY. ITS GOALS INCLUDE INCREASING KINDERGARTEN READINESS, INCREASING THE STABILITY OF VULNERABLE FAMILIES, AND INCREASING PARENTAL AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT IN THE CHILD'S EDUCATION AND HEALTH. THE ORGANIZATION RECEIVES THE MAJORITY OF ITS FINANCIAL SUPPORT THROUGH GOVERNMENT GRANTS AND CONTRACTS. ITS OPERATIONS ARE DEPENDENT UPON CONTINUED FUNDING FROM THESE SOURCES.
