Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 3

Sue camou arrant from loveall price & associates llc was hired to act as the executive director, she was contracted to serve in full authority and capacity as a regular executive director, no differences in duty or authority. Sue reported to the trustees and had full authority over the daily operations and staff.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

The finance committee inspects the current year form 990 and provides a full copy to the board prior to the return being field with the internal revenue service.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

The board of the bellevue schools foundation has formally adopted a conflict of interest policy. Each board member is provided the conflict of interest policy and conflict of interest form for completion and submission. Follow-up is conducted by a foundation board member or staff to ensure that they are all returned. The board president and/or executive director reviews the conflict of interest forms and reviews board member involvement for any potential areas requiring a conflict of interest disclosure or action. In the event that a conflict of interest did arise, the board would take appropriate action to remedy the situation.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15

Bellevue schools foundation subscribed to united way's non-profit salary to assist in the recommendations as to its payroll budget and to identify where they may have competitive issues with the positions relative to those reported in the survey. The executive committee analyzed the survey and passed recommendations on budget and individual issues to the executive director for discussion with the executive committee. The payroll budget was then approved by the board. The executive committee participated in the individual compensation/benefits decisions for the executive director and for all other staff. The last full compensation review occurred summer of 2018.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19
