Activity 2

Ayr has been a state certified adolescent drug treatment facility since 1983. Ayr offers adolescent substance abuse prevention, intervention and treatment services. These services are offered to individuals, families, schools, and other community organizations. In addition, ayr also provides student assistance programs in 36 schools in collaboration with 6 school districts.

Activity 3

Auburn youth resources operates one children's residential program located in auburn, wa. The south king youth shelter (skys) is a nine-bed interim care facility serving children 10 - 17 years old. The shelter serves a dual role as a 15-day emergency shelter placement and as an interim care facility for children referred through the division of child & family services. The severson program is a seven-unit, transitional scattered site housing program located in auburn, wa. The program is designed to help homeless young adults ages 18-24 make the transition from experiencing homelessness on the streets to permanent housing. The severson program blends scattered site housing, case management, and independent living skills to assist young adults transition to independent living. The focus of the program is for young adults to develop educational, life and job skills to help them become responsible, productive, and independent adults. Young people are encouraged to be enrolled in an educational program and to attain ged certification.ayr also is in a collaborative partnership to provide 30 housing units to chronically homeless youth in the south king county area. Ayr staff provides case management to clients in this program that includes training in a broad spectrum of life skills such as parenting, education, employment and basic housekeeping skills to appropriately develop and maintain successful independent living skills. The agency owns and operates a 16-unit housing program serving low-income families in enumclaw and the plateau. Four of the units are dedicated to transitional living services for formerly homeless young families. Housing services are coupled with intensive case management services that focus on life skills training, parenting skills training and job readiness. Our street outreach program is designed to target homeless and runaway youth along the highway 99 corridor from seatac to federal way and in the valley cities of renton, kent and auburn. The goal of the program is to identify and make contact with homeless young people and provide assistance and referrals in an attempt to get them off the streets and into safe and stable housing.
