Activity 2

Student Services: Whitworth's Residence halls and/or on-campus houses/apartments accommodate over 1,400 students (Fall 2010). Whitworth has a two-year residency requirement. Whitworth's newest residence hall, currently known as East Hall, was dedicated in September 2009. The building is the academic-year home to 170 Whitworth students. Student clubs and organizations: Whitworth has nearly 40 student clubs, ranging from Amnesty International to the Hawaiian Club. Recent Student Highlights: 2010 President's Cup winners (who maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout their college careers) six students. One of those students also received a full-tuition scholarship and a stipend to conduct research in the Lasers and Applied Physics Doctorate Program at Princeton University. The award amounts to $65,000-70,000 per year for up to six years. Three 2010 graduates have been awarded Fulbright assistantship grants to teach English as a foreign language in Argentina and Malaysia, and Belgium. Also In 2010, Whitworth's student-run newspaper, The Whitworthian, won first place in its division at the 2009 National Mark of Excellence Awards, sponsored by the Society of Professional Journalists; for the sixth time in the past 12 years, the Whitworth Jazz Ensemble was named Outstanding College Band at the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival.

Activity 3

Auxiliary Services: Whitworth University provides dining services to over 1,400 students resident students and to the many other students who live off campus, the university also provides access to purchasing books and supplies at its campus bookstore. In fiscal year 2010, the auxiliary services generated gross revenues of over $11.0 Million that supported the academic and students services provided to 2,989 undergraduate and graduate students registered at the university.
