The Organization supports the charitable purposes of the Central Indiana Community Foundation Inc., Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana Inc., and The Greater Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce Inc. ("Supported Organizations") by working to (1) promote connectivity by improving highways and streets, (2) enhance the environment, (3) reduce infrastructure barriers that fragment communities, (4) create a healthier community and environment by increasing transportation options, (5) ensure dignity, and local engagement in city infrastructure decisions, and to (6) increase opportunities for sustainable economic planning and development.

The organization raised funds to develop new visuals and illustrations to help educate the public about how rebuilding the I-65/I-70 Interstate Inner Loop with recessed construction could reconnect communities and change the urban landscape. The visuals contrast Indianapolis' interstate infrastructure with the interstate infrastructure in several other cities, show the acreage of land impacted by the current elevated highway that would be available for equitable economic development, and how a recessed highway would enable greater connectivity and multi-modal transportation options for people who live in, work in, and visit the city.$29,750$29,750
The Organization partnered with the City of Indianapolis and Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce to prepare and submit a USDOT Reconnecting Communities Pilot Program grant application, a first-of-its-kind initiative to reconnect communities that were cut off from economic opportunity and burdened by past transportation infrastructure decisions.The Organization received 65 letters of support for the application, which would fund a study of Planning Study focused on the southeast leg of the Interstate I-65/I-70 Indianapolis Downtown Inner Loop and the surrounding communities. The Organization was awarded the grant in the spring of 2023.$0$0
The Organization hosted or participated in over 250 stakeholder meetings and presentations, reaching over 1,000 people. The objective for these meetings and presentations was to engage stakeholders in a community conversation about options of rebuilding the city's urban highways using recessed construction. The meetings and presentations were also designed to provide general education about urban highway infrastructure design and engage community members in discussions about alternatives. Expenses for meeting spaces and materials distributed at these meetings were donated. The Organization also engaged the community in focus group conversations about one area of the I-65/I-70 urban interstate that the Indiana Department of Transportation will be repairing as part of its I-65 SAFE Project. The Organization collected community input and prepared a report that will be submitted to INDOT as a community response.$0$0
