Phoenix citizens academy alumni association is to foster a greater understanding of the f.b.i.s role in the community through open discussion and to support the f.b.i.s efforts to deliver information about their role, tools, tactics, jurisdiction, and vision for the future in national law enforcement, homeland defense, and counter-terrorism on all levels.in 2015, the f.b.i. Phoenix citizens academy alumni association:-provided support, logistics, and food and beverage to the f.b.i.s citizens academy class by furnishing the meals for forty-five to sixty students and f.b.i. Staff one night a week for eight weeks of classes at the f.b.i. Buildings, and for range day, a weekend day at a federal range where class members and a guest are invited by the f.b.i. To see demonstrations from the special weapons and tactics team and the evidence response team engaging in situations they may encounter at crime scenes.-provided support, logistics, and food and beverage to the f.b.i.s phoenix field office for a community relations executive seminar training program for more than 30 members of somali american united council az. The program featured five different sessions conducted over five months each focusing on a topic of specific interest to the somali american community. -sponsored the graduation dinner for the f.b.i. Citizens academy class of 2015 in march at phoenix gardens.-provided support and logistics for the annual f.b.i. Citizens academy class trip to f.b.i. Headquarters and quantico in september.-hosted a community outreach event in tucson in november that featured max noel, the retired special agent with the f.b.i. Who led the team that finally identified, located and arrested the unabomber, ted kaczynski. Hosted a community outreach in phoenix in november that featured a presentation by active f.b.i. Sac on protecting us from terrorism at home and abroad at the phoenix art museum. -hosted holiday seasons greetings at two parties for alumni members and f.b.i. Personnel. The phoenix event was at the blancos tacos at the biltmore, and the tucson event was at the lodge in the desert. Both events raised hundreds of dollars in gift cards for local shelters that serve victims of domestic violence and human trafficking.-monies raised during 2015 will serve to sponsor food and beverage for 2016 classes, meetings, events and parties and will also further endow the organizations legacy fund. The legacy fund serves to perpetuate the f.b.i. Phoenix citizens academy alumni associations mission of supporting the f.b.i.s community outreach programs, improve organizational sustainability, and increase membership retention and involvement.”
