FORM 990-EZ, PART III, LINE 28, PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

The FBIPCAAA is a tax exempt organization under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code supported by its members. The goal of the FBI Phoenix Citizens Academy Alumni Association is to foster a greater understanding of the FBIs role in the community through open discussion and to support the FBIs efforts to deliver information about their role, tools, tactics, jurisdiction, and vision for the future in national law enforcement, homeland defense, and counter---terrorism on all levels. 2021 Highlights: During 2021 our virtual and in-person programs have touched well over 700 community members. Our Board and guests have provided over 1,700 hours of volunteer time devoted to the mission of our organization. The FPBPCAAA sponsored several virtual events during the COVID restrictions to provide relevant, meaningful, and interesting continuing education to our members. Provided virtual mentoring for the Somali Center Leaders for Life Program to provide financial aid and specific academic program guidance. In July we began to re-engage our members with in-person events beginning with an FBI SWAT demonstration and domestic terrorism presentation at the Gila River Arena. Our in-person Annual meeting was well attended with Sheriff Mark Lamb as a spirited and engaging speaker. Our mixers later in the year were also well attended. Maintained in person assistance to the FBI sponsored International CAP and Teen Academy programs. Chapter Priorities: Continue educating local communities and undertaking activities as outlined in the MOA, in consultation with the Phoenix local field office. Increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the Board by focusing on People, Processes and Technology improvements. In 2021 (Jan. to Dec.), the FBI Phoenix Citizens Academy Alumni Association: January In lieu of our Life Members annual breakfast we hosted a virtual meeting. We introduced our Legacy Life Member Giving Program and recognized our Life Members who have already supported this program and our organization. 24 members signed up and 23 participated. Collaborated with the Pima County Sheriffs Department for a Tour of the following departments: Administration Building, Detective's Unit, Sherriff's Unit, and Forensics Unit. This was open to all Alumni and was held in Tucson. A hybrid face to face and zoom meeting was held at the Somali American United Council offices from 4:30 to 5:30pm. The event was a follow-up meeting with 15 parents and students regarding school selection, financial aid, and general discussion of post high school education life and requirements. Edward Snowden was the quintessential insider threat that all organizations feared. During our first virtual event we heard the inside story of Snowdens last few months at NSA, the search for him, and the impact of his actions from his then boss, Steven Bay. February The FBIPCAAA volunteered at the United Food Bank of Mesa. The first session of the International Community Awareness Program (CAP) was held at the Somali American United Council of Arizona headquarters at 2425 E Thomas Rd Suiters 10-14 Phoenix AZ 85016. In attendance were 10 members of the Somali Councils program, 5 administrative personnel and Lance R. Wilson representing the Phoenix Citizens Academy. Daniel Johnson, Special Agent, Civil Rights and Public Corruption, Phoenix Division presented a briefing on Civil Rights and Human Trafficking. At this Virtual Event, Mike Gallante presented a briefing on Active Shooter Awareness Training. Mike has developed Active Shooter training for local law enforcement and public sector entities. He brought his expertise to provide our alumni a riveting and on-the-edge of our seat briefing with videos and examples of real-life active shooter incidents. 52 members signed up and 45 participated. March The second session of the International Community Awareness Program was held at the Somali American United Council of Arizona headquarters with an attendance of 10 members of the Somali Councils pr

IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt18The FBIPCAAA is a tax exempt organization under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code supported by its members.
