The economic security project (esp) challenges the status quo by catalyzing ideas that build economic power for all americans. The economic security project challenges this status quo by catalyzing ideas that build economic power for all americans. (see scheduel o) we serve as convener, strategist and funder. We disburse grants, identify gaps, develop communications research to inform the movements and coordinate events and convenings to encourage investment and action from others. We aim to support the emerging leaders in the economic justice field and ensure they have the networks, know-how, and money to succeed. We've identified two fights we think we can win: a guaranteed income that would provide an income floor for all americans and anti-monopoly action to rein in the unprecedented concentration of corporate power.

| IRS990/Desc | 0 | CASH TAX CREDITS/CAMPAIGNS: WE CONTINUED TO SPEARHEAD EFFORTS TO WIN CHILD TAX CREDIT AND EARNED INCOME TAX CREDIT POLICIES AT THE STATE AND FEDERAL LEVEL. WE LED TWO CTC COALITIONS AND ENGAGED RACIAL JUSTICE GROUPS IN OUR WORK. WE SUCCEEDED IN EXPANDING REFUNDABLE TAX CREDITS IN STATES LIKE CA, IL, AND NJ, BRINGING RESOURCES, STRATEGY, AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO BUILD POWER AND MOMENTUM FOR CASH POLICIES. WE ALSO BUILD A STRONG AND UNIFIED FEDERAL COALITION TO RESIST PASSAGE OF CORPORATE TAX BREAKS WITHOUT AN ACCOMPANYING INCREASE IN THE FEDERAL CTC.GUARANTEED INCOME: WE DROVE STRATEGIES TO CREATE MOMENTUM THROUGH OUR INITIATIVES LIKE THE GUARANTEED INCOME NOW EVENT, THE 100 PILOTS PROJECT, RELEASING THE CASH AS CARE REPORT, AND RUNNING THE GUARANTEED INCOME COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE, WHICH GREW SUBSTANTIALLY OVER THE COURSE OF THE YEAR. WE ALSO WORKED TO CREATE A GUARANTEED INCOME FOR HOMELESS STUDENTS IN CALIFORNIA.ANTI-MONOPOLY: WE RAN A COALITION TO REPRESENT THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND ADVANCE LEGISLATION TO CURTAIL THE POWER OF MONOPOLIES FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 40 YEARS, LEADING TO THE PASSAGE OF GROUNDBREAKING LEGISLATION. WE EDUCATED THE GENERAL PUBLIC, FUNDERS, ACADEMIA, AND IMPACTED COMMUNITIES ON THE IMPORTANCE OF ANTIMONOPOLY ACTION AS PART OF A NEW ECONOMIC PARADIGM. |
