“For any significant paid position at HelpBerkeley, the Audit Committee minus the person holding the position is responsible for 1) identifying a source of reliable compensation data for the position and obtaining the data 2) identifying a compensation advisor who has knowledge appropriate to the position and retaining their services before finalizing a compensation agreement 3) obtaining their written position and compensation recommendation. The full board (minus the person under consideration for the position if they are a board member) votes on the compensation agreement. The compensation agreement, advisor recommendation and compensation vote is recorded in the meeting minutes. In 2022 their were no full time hires.”

“As the pandemic abated, HelpBerkeley ended our restaurant program in January of 2022 and stopped preparing our own meals for delivery in April of 2022. This meant that we no longer needed to rent an industrial kitchen or pay contractor fees for a chef. Instead we focused on delivering meals and groceries that were purchased from or donated by others to members who were food insecure and unable to prepare or access meals in any other way.”
