“Organizatons Mission:The purpose of Warriors Foundation, Inc. is to raise capital and to provide financial resources and support to community-based organizations that receive a substantial part of their financial support in the form of contributions from publicly supported organizations, from a government unit, or from the general public, specifically Warriors for High Quality Schools, Inc., Warrior Nation, and The Nation Youth Sports Group. Accomplishment 1:Warriors Foundation supports Warrior Nation/Lions Den, a youth sports organization that serves hundreds of students and families in the Denver metro area. Lions Den provides youth sports programs for football, basketball, baseball, and cheerleading and has plans to expand into other sports. Warrior Nation also plans to launch a literacy program for its participants and their families. Warrior Nation is mostly funded by registration fees, corporate sponsorships, and individual donations. Lions Den utilized its funds to support registration with The Nation Youth Football League, uniforms, team building and self-esteem building, end of year banquet activities. Accomplishment 2:The Nation was formed out of necessity in 2018 when the Police Athletic League shut down, which left children in the Denver community without an outlet to play organized, competitive football and cheer. Therefore, Mr. Pryor and Mr. Lindsay created The Nation, which is currently the biggest youth football league in the inner city. The Nation also includes a robust cheerleading program. The Nation is the only youth football league in Colorado with a national charter, American Youth Football (the AYF). The AYF consists of eight regions, with multiple leagues in each region. The Nation sends its student athletes to compete in the AYFs regional and national championship competitions. In its first season in 2019, the Nation sponsored and sent 4 teams to the Regional Ch Accomplishment 3:Warriors for High Quality Schools was founded in 2017 to support the Incorporators research and advocacy for racial justice, equity, and equality for underserved students in the Denver Public Schools (DPS) system. Since 2017, the Incorporators have worked with other community members and organizations to combat and dismantle institutional racism, while creating new pathways of excellence, within DPS and beyond. Warriors for High Quality Schools also supports the Robert F. Smith STEAM Academy, an HBCU-style high school it created in support of its mission.”
