FORM 990 - ORGANIZATION'S MISSION

The stated mission of grammy's house is to liberate all families from fear and violence. Grammy's house seeks to provide a safe environment, assisting in the advocacy, education, and empowerment of victims and child-witness victims of domestic violence. Grammy's house strives to educate the community at large about the effects of domestic violence on adults and children.

Form 990, Page 2, Part III, Line 4A

U outreach program. Both of the entities target youth needs within our community. These partnerships have proven to be an invaluable asset complementing our domestic violence programs. Another accomplishment this year is related to the community support we attained in the form of monetary support. An anonymous group in our community offered to renovate the shelter intake office as well as the main office. First, the shelter office will be renovated to fit the needs of our clients. We need a safety room for the children of the adult victims. This is needed as a safe quiet place for the children to retreat to when the parent is in the middle of a crisis having to disclose the severity of their abuse. Additionally, the shelter intake office will be expanded to include a private restroom for the staff only. Next, once the shelter intake office is renovated, the administrative office will be renovated to gain more practical use of the space involved. Overall, we foresee that this project will be in two phases. We are currently seeking capital funds to contribute to this project. Lastly, our biggest accomplishment is that we are fully staffed in our shelter as well as all of our programs. This means that all of our programs can operate at full capacity. We also hired a licensed social worker to work our families.

Financial Statement Notes

Schedule D, Page 3, Part X

Grammy's house annually evaluates all federal and state income tax positions. This process includes an analysis of whether these income tax positions the organization takes meet the definition of an uncertain tax position under the income taxes topic of the financial accounting standards codification. As of june 30, 2017 there were no uncertain tax positions noted. Grammy's house policy is to classify income tax penalties and interest, when applicable, according to their natural classification. Under the statute of limitations, grammy's house tax returns are no longer subject to examination by tax authorities for years prior to 2014.

IRS990/Desc0GRAMMYS HOUSE HAD MANY ACCOMPLISHMENTS THIS YEAR. FIRST, WE GAINED A PARTNERSHIP WITH A LOCAL NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT WORKS WITH ALL YOUTH IN OUR COMMUNITY. THE CHANGING LIVES COALITION (CLC) PARTNERED WITH US TO FORM A NEW TEEN GIRLS SUPPORT GROUP IN PARK MIDDLE SCHOOL. THE GROUP IS CALLED, POWER UP GRAMMYS HOUSE PROVIDED THE SOCIAL WORKER & LUNCH WHILE CLC PROVIDES A GROUP FACILITATOR. THE GROUPS MEET AT THE SCHOOL DURING THE GIRLS LUNCH HOURS. THEY ADDRESS MANY ISSUES SUCH AS TEEN DATING, BULLYING, DRUG AWARENESS, FAMILY ISSUES, ALONG MANY OTHER TOPICS. THE GROUP HAS A TOTAL OF 14 ACTIVE MEMBERS AND SEEMS TO BE EXPANDING EVERY WEEK. ADDITIONALLY, WE ADDED TWO MORE ORGANIZATION TO OUR PARTNERSHIP. WE SUCCESSFULLY PARTNERED WITH ARTESIA DRUG AND CRIME COALITION AND THE 702 4 U OUTREACH PROGRAM.

IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt1U OUTREACH PROGRAM.
