“We are committed to transforming miami-dades political culture through outreach, movement building, and communication strategies while boldly advocating for climate, economic, health, immigrant, and racial justice.we build through many integrated efforts including: organizing & training programmed virtual panels and in person gatherings around topics impacting our communities - specifically climate justice, economic justice, access to health care, immigration reform, and racial justice engaged in regular 1-on-1 meetings with community leaders to identify shared interests and potential collaborations. Developed a strong base of young progressive latinx miami leaders and offered (3) training and workshops on organizing and movement building. Jose javier rodriguez, sen. Annette taddeo, and cindy huddleston. Florida policy institute focused on how covid-19 is affecting the south florida community in partnership with common ground florida. - may 4 - discussions between community justice project and mayor suarez led to the establishment of the emergency rental and utility assistance program in the city of miami to income-eligible households experiencing unemployment due to the covid-19 pandemic. Our growing team of partner organizations - drafted and published no mas lies, disinformation, and white supremacy: florida latino leaders demand spanish media stop disinformation and conspiracy theories in partnership with florida rising and florida immigrant coalition. - florida for all coalition led by new florida majority (now florida rising), florida immigrant coalition, seiu among other latinx partner orgs. Latinx vote program engaged 1.2 million voters in 19 priority counties including broward, miami-dade, palm beach, orange, osceola, hillsborough, and pinellas. Strengthened progressive voices and values in latinx spaces and media. - public land for public good coalition in partnership with allapattah cdc catalyst miami, community justice project, community reinvestment alliance of south florida, miami homes for all, south florida community development coalition, urban impact lab, and city of miami. Coalition is in ongoing negotiations with the city of miami to design and facilitate the civic engagement process for public land in allapattah which is under threat from climate gentrification and displacement due to redevelopment.
