Mission

Med-project usa was established to develop, implement and operate community level pharmaceutical product stewardship take-back programs in compliance with and as mandated by legislation, as well as program activities performed on a discretionary basis as requested or approved by its parent organization pharmaceutical product stewardship work group (ppswg).

On behalf of participating companies from the pharmaceutical industry, med-project provides safe, effective, and compliant pharmaceutical product take-back programs mandated by state and local governments for unwanted household medicines and sharps.

The corporation shall have one voting member, which shall be the pharmaceutical product stewardship work group, a district of columbia nonprofit corporation, and whose rights shall be provided for in the bylaws of the corporation.

Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7A

Per the organization's bylaws, the organization shall have only one voting member, which shall be the pharmaceutical product stewardship work group (ppswg), a district of columbia nonprofit corporation. The corporation shall have no other members. The affairs of the organization shall be managed by the board of directors, recognizing the express rights reserved for the organization's voting member (ppswg). Directors shall be appointed by the board of directors of the organization's voting member (ppswg).

The adp totalsource staff is responsible for enterprise risk monitor compliance with the med-project's conflict of interest (coi) policy. Within this group, the senior advisor, ethics and compliance, requests annual acknowledgement of the coi once a year from all adp totalsource staff employed for med-project. All new staff hired for med-project are required to sign the coi upon hire. Reporting of conflict of interest: all potential conflicts of interest (including pre-existing conflicts of interest that have not been previously approved or ratified) will be promptly reported to: (i) the executive director; or (ii) the lead director, legal and compliance, as appropriate. (iii) where the conflict arises with respect to the executive director, it will be promptly reported to the med-project usa board of directors ("board") chair. All persons (employed on behalf of med-project) covered by the coi will annually acknowledge that they have either no conflicts or have disclosed/will disclose them by following the coi procedure.

The organization entered a client services agreement with a professional employer organization (peo) - adp totalsource, inc. To perform work for the organization. The terms of the agreement state that the peo will share certain employer responsibilities. The organization is responsible for the day to day managing of the employees. Both peo and the organization have a right to hire (and terminate) employees and hired employees must complete the peo's new hire forms. The employees are paid exclusively through the peo. Compensation paid to the peo is treated like compensation to a management company for purposes of form 990 compensation reporting. The following individuals hold key employee and officer positions with the organization and are compensated by adp: michael van winkle, and kimberly peterson.
