“The creative girls rock (cgr) charity sneaker ball is an annual black-tie fundraiser to support creative girls rock. Proceeds from the event are used to partner with 501c3 organizations to create additional programming for young girls and women, ages 7 and up, that align with creative girls rock's mission, purpose, and initiatives. The 2021 cgr charity sneaker ball was attended by 450+ cgr supporters who contributed 50,000 in support of our mission.”
“The first creative girls rock mural, funded by nashville metro arts (thrive), was completed in 2021. The mural is on display at slim + husky's, located in the buchanan art district. Cgr partnered with local artists including lead artist elisheba israel mrozik to create a neighborhood mural to inspire and empower the community. Youth from all over the country had the opportunity to submit a flower of their choosing to be included in the mural with their name. Over 100 youth engaged with cgr to contribute to the mural, and each flower serves as a reminder of the power, beauty, and creativity they share. The project was very successful and cgr has been given the opportunity to build upon the successes of this project by creating an annual tradition of mural making throughout the city of nashville, including a mobile mural project where youth are able to participate with the artists.”
“On september 15, 2020, creative girls rock (cgr) was awarded metro nashville cares act funding from the united way of greater nashville. This program was completed in 2021. The grant funds were used to offer financial assistance to individuals who have been impacted by the covid-19 pandemic. 15 households with 39 members received funding to help pay for their rent, mortgage, utility accounts that were passed due.”
“The cgr master class is a core program of creative girls rock designed to offer a safe community space for young girls (ages 6+) and women to learn and engage in arts and crafts, artistic design, visual arts and empowerment workshops to explore their emotions, develop self-awareness, cope with stress, anxiety and boost self-esteem. In 2021, cgr hosted 12 master classes with 300+ participants. Creative girls rock partnered with metro nashville police and metro nashville public schools for the back-2-school backpack bash and the diaper giveaway to benefit underserved families within the greater nashville community. Over 1,000+ families were served. Cgr donated 200+ diapers, hygiene kits, and food boxes and 3,500+ backpacks filled with school supplies to these families.”

OVER 100 YOUTH ENGAGED WITH CGR TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE MURAL, AND EACH FLOWER SERVES AS A REMINDER OF THE POWER, BEAUTY, AND CREATIVITY THEY SHARE. THE PROJECT WAS VERY SUCCESSFUL AND CGR HAS BEEN GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO BUILD UPON THE SUCCESSES OF THIS PROJECT BY CREATING AN ANNUAL TRADITION OF MURAL MAKING THROUGHOUT THE CITY OF NASHVILLE, INCLUDING A MOBILE MURAL PROJECT WHERE YOUTH ARE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE WITH THE ARTISTS. |
