“In 2021, we launched the cgr mural program, led by cgr lead mural artist elisheba mrozik, as part of our creative arts initiative. This program teaches young girls and women essential design principles and mural techniques, fostering artistic skills and cultural awareness through collaboration on community-centered projects. Participants of all ages are empowered to transform their surroundings and uplift their communities through creative expression. Since its inception, the program has expanded significantly, with 160 participants contributing to high-visibility murals across greater nashville. These include installations at wego elizabeth duff transit center, mckissack middle school, john early middle school, slim and huskys nashville, napier elementary school, jones paideia elementary school, purpose prep academy, the healing trust foundation; and, 5 mobile murals that were displayed at tennessee state university, napier, nashville public library: bordeaux, downtown and madison branches.”
“Creative kids rock was established in 2023 under our cgr youth development initiative to invite all youth to utilize their imagination and express themselves through creative arts. In partnership with metro nashville public schools (mnps), the creative kids rock program offers diverse creative art programming, encouraging all youth to engage in activities that foster creativity, self-expression, and artistic development. This program provides a supportive and inclusive environment where young people can explore various art forms, develop their skills, and gain confidence in their creative abilities. Workshops include but are not limited to painting and drawing, music and songwriting, dance and movement, creative writing, crafting and diy projects, and cultural arts exploration.”
“On saturday, august 3, 2024, we proudly partnered with metro nashville public schools visual arts, the pencil foundation, and other local nonprofits to host a back-to-school bash, ensuring students had the resources they need for a successful school year. At the event, we distributed over 1,000 backpacks filled with art supplies, along with diapers, books, and other school essentials. To further support our community, we also offered free haircuts, creating a day of giving and celebration that set students up for success as they head back to the classroom. A 2022 study on arts education found it reduces disciplinary incidents, boosts writing skills, and fosters emotional empathy. Notably, it benefits elementary students by increasing school engagement, aspirations for higher education, and cognitive empathy. With budget cuts looming in tennessee, ensuring access to arts supplies is crucial for students' development as artists. At cgr, we believe in the transformative power of arts education”
“The cgr master class is our signature program designed to provide a safe, supportive space for girls (ages 6+) and women to engage in arts and crafts, artistic design, visual arts, and empowerment workshops. These sessions allow participants to explore their emotions, develop self- awareness, cope with stress and anxiety, and build self-esteem. In addition to fostering creativity, the cgr master class serves as a therapeutic outlet, promoting overall well-being and work-life balance. Through creative expression, participants experience a sense of fulfillment and restorative health. Our classes have demonstrated that many girls and women actively seek these artistic outlets to support their mental health and wellness. This program is free for all participants unless an exclusive workshop is offered. Workshops are available on a first-come, first-served basis through advance registration.”

| IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc | 0 | ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 3, 2024, WE PROUDLY PARTNERED WITH METRO NASHVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS VISUAL ARTS, THE PENCIL FOUNDATION, AND OTHER LOCAL NONPROFITS TO HOST A BACK-TO-SCHOOL BASH, ENSURING STUDENTS HAD THE RESOURCES THEY NEED FOR A SUCCESSFUL SCHOOL YEAR. AT CGR, WE BELIEVE IN THE TRANSFORMATIVE POWER OF ARTS EDUCATION |
