Mission

Provide diverse programming to serve our multi-faceted, multi-cultural denver community. Ultimately, the bug strives to bring a new audience to the theatre and a new theatre to the audience.

A non-profit organization that seeks to foster a supportive community of artists in denver by providing the opportunity for the development of unique voices, a diverse audience, and dynamic programming. We believe in the spirit of artistry as the driving force behind every production, respecting the integrity of the creative individual, and the power of shared artistic experience. The bug has approximately 10,000 people from the greater metro area and beyond who annually attend our film, theater, music, classes and other events.

ARTS, CULTURE, AND HUMANITIES: THE BUG PERFORMANCE AND MEDIA ART CENTER (BPMAC) SEEKS TO FOSTER A SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY OF ARTISTS IN COLORADO BY PROVIDING THE OPPORTUNITY FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF UNIQUE VOICES, DIVERSE AUDIENCES AND DYNAMIC PROGRAMMING. THE BUG IS AN AWARD WINNING ORGANIZATION THAT BELIEVES IN THE INTEGRITY OF THE ARTISTIC INDIVIDUAL AND THE POWER OF SHARED ARTISTIC EXPERIENCE THROUGH THE PERFORMING ARTS. THE OBJECTIVE IS TO CONTINUE PRODUCING AND PRESENTING THOUGHT-PROVOKING, SOCIALLY-RELEVANT PROGRAMMING THAT INCORPORATES A MULTITUDE OF PERFORMANCE DISCIPLINES. OUR WILDLY SUCCESSFUL OPEN STAGE EVENT, FREAK TRAIN, GIVES ACCESS TO THE BUG STAGE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC EACH MONTH, PROVIDING AN OPPORTUNITY FOR INDIVIDUALS TO GET ON STAGE REGARDLESS OF EXPERIENCE, AND PERFORM THEIR WORK IN FRONT OF A LIVE AUDIENCE.
