“Each month, the organization awards 1000 to a community member to pursue a creative venture. The organization funded 12 individuals to run projects in 2020. Collectively, these projects served an estimated 1,500+ community members over the year. These projects included a mix of justice and equity initiatives (including black tea community round table), artistic efforts (including art-to-go vending machine) and creative community infrastructure (including the footprints in the field garden).”
“The goal of the gallery is to expose the community to art and artists that they might not otherwise connect with by attaching our gallery alongside our primary event space. WE ADDITIONALLY BEGAN PLANNING FOR 2021 PROGRAMMING WHICH EVENTUALLY RESULTED IN A SERIES CALLED TUESDAYS ON THE TERRACE BEGINNING JUNE 2021, A WEEKLY COMMUNITY BLOCK PARTY THAT ENGAGES 60-250 COMMUNITY MEMBERS EACH WEEK, WHICH HAS INCREASED OUR MONTHLY VISITOR NUMBERS FROM 1,000 (IN 2020) TO 3,000 (IN 2021). |
