IRS990/Desc0Launch began program operations as a nonprofit in the beginning of the school year in August 2019. Launch began the school year with 74 students attending Monday thru Thursday with a morning and afternoon. Students are schooled in letter recognition, phonemic sounds, reading readiness skills, writing, formal sentence structure, rhyming, number awareness, counting, money recognition, telling time, shapes recognition of colors, site workd recognition, geometric shapes, basic math symbols, geography, and many life skills. Launch tests at the beginning and end of each school year to measure growth gains. Remediation is available for those students needed additional assistance. Students enter public schools with the necessary skills to succeed at their appropriate grade level. During the year Launch provided scholarships to 13 families and began a pilot kindergarten program.
