| The Community Support Fund helps families meet their basic needs during times of emergency. This year, that emergency was COVID-19. We provided 5 weeks of food to every family in 4 villages in Alta Verapaz, Guatemala for a total of 486 households. The goal is for families to have food security so hunger does not interfere with their children's ability to study and to alleviate the economic pressure that might cause some families to send their children to work instead of study. | $23,789 | $24,014 |
| Scholarship program that helps 14 Guatemalan children attend secondary school. It provides scholarships that cover expenses for tuition and schooling, and living expenses if they must live away from home to attend. The objective is to give gifted students the ability to continue studying when they do not otherwise have the resources to do so. | $6,652 | $6,916 |
| The Local Education Advancement Program helps improve the quality of education in rural indigenous schools in Guatemala. So far, we have started helping one school, the elementary school in the village of Tzuncoc in Alta Verapaz, Guatemala. This year we brought 994 notebooks, 32 boxes of pencils, 372 erasers, and 139 boxes of colored pencils to the school, among many more supplies. The goal is for rural indigenous children to have access to good quality education, tailored to their specific needs, in their local schools. | $2,169 | $2,270 |
